Israh is a deep thinking, deep feeling, profound woman who has had (and continues to have) a varied and fascinating life. She has found her calling in supporting people to pass through critical and often challenging thresholds in their lives - both in her role as a midwife and as a wilderness rites of passage guide. She is strong, inspiring, capable, connected, immensely alive and, above all, caring.

FILM

This film was made as a promotional film for the first Wild Time programme in 2015, with the help of film-maker Nati Quiro. The programme has stayed true to its core intentions and purpose even though the activities, structure and facilitation team have changed over the years.

The world is a mountain. Whatever you say, good or bad, it will echo it back to you. I fell in love with the mountains, and they have been my inspiration, my guides and my teachers in this work. A thousand times thank you to Nati Quiro for this beautiful celebration of the mountains and our love for them.

Wild Time is a Rite of Passage to support young women at this very special transition. This wondrous journey aims to support girls of a certain age to safely experience a range of physical outdoor challenges, develop and practice survival and bushcraft skills whilst at the same time exploring interpersonal themes of self-reliance, group dynamics, and creativity. It aims to be a magical unravelling, facilitated on a adventure across wild Dartmoor. This film captures the experiences of young women on the 2018 Wild Time programme.
